When something breaks – performance, trust or culture – we don’t panic. We return to the system.
Kyndst is built on six core pillars, supported by a wider set of tools that together form a complete leadership operating system.
These pillars aren’t theoretical. They have been shaped by real decisions, real consequences and real responsibility – across the military, education and business sectors.
People First, Always is built on these principles. It introduces the system, explains how it works, and demonstrates what happens when even one pillar is ignored or weakened. The individual and organisational pathways then bring the system to life in practice.
Six pillars, one mission – a lifetime of impact
Each pillar focuses on a different layer of leadership. Together, they form a complete operating system for leading with clarity, consistency and purpose.
OUR SIX PILLARS
Clarity
Knowing what matters most
Purpose and direction, and the standards that guide every decision.
Character
How you lead yourself first
Discipline and emotional control, and the habits that shape your leadership.
Culture
The behaviours you build and allow
What gets repeated becomes the environment everyone works within.
Strategy
Turning purpose into action
Aligning performance, priorities and decisions to move with intent.
Connection
Trust built through relationships
Communication and honesty, and the quality of how people work together.
Contribution
What you leave behind
Impact and legacy, and the value you create beyond yourself.
Our founder
Mike Hamilton OBE
Kyndst Founder & CEO
Kyndst is founded on leadership forged under pressure – through military service, education, business growth, failure, success and transition. This work is grounded in lived experience, not theory.
Mike Hamilton OBE is a veteran, educator, founder and storyteller whose journey has taken him from the streets of Newton Heath, to the front lines of Iraq and the halls of Buckingham Palace. After joining the Royal Engineers and later serving as a bomb disposal specialist within a commando troop supporting 3 Commando Brigade, he learned first-hand the importance of resilience, teamwork, leadership and values when the stakes are high.
Returning to the UK, Mike recognised a growing need in schools for character, confidence and positive role models. That insight became Commando Joe's – a mission-led organisation built on a belief in young people and a willingness to do things differently. Under his leadership, it grew into one of the UK's most recognised character education programmes, reaching thousands of pupils and earning national recognition, including an OBE for Services to Education.
His experience of scaling a business, pitching on Dragon’s Den, navigating investment and private equity, and ultimately exiting the organisation revealed the realities of leadership beyond success alone – from culture to contracts, purpose to profit, and impact to identity.
What matters the most
Losing his mum at almost the same time the sale of Commando Joe’s was completed forced a deeper reset. Titles fell away. Momentum slowed. What remained was simple – who you are and how you treat people when no one is watching.
Kyndst exists because of those lessons.
It’s built to help people and organisations embed values early, protect them through growth, and rely on them when things get hard – not as branding, but as behaviour.
Today, Mike delivers keynotes, leadership programmes, consultancy and practical tools that help individuals and organisations lead with clarity, build strong cultures, and perform under pressure.
A father, veteran and lifelong learner, Mike builds his work around a simple belief…
Do the right thing
when nobody else is watching
Who is Kyndst for?
Kyndst is for individuals and teams who care about how results are achieved, not just that they are.
Business
Culture, leadership and strategy for organisations that want performance without burnout. For individuals looking to build self-confidence, strengthen leadership skills, and lead with empathy – this is for you.
Education
Leadership and staff development rooted in character, clarity and consistency. For schools, trusts and education teams seeking consistency, calm leadership, and staff who feel confident, supported and aligned around shared values.
Charities & social impact
For organisations operating under pressure that need resilient teams, ethical leadership, and values that hold when the stakes are high.
PATHWAYS
Personal pathway
Build confidence, resilience and leadership you can use every day at work. Lead yourself better. Communicate clearly. Stay grounded under pressure.
Team Pathway
Embed values. Align teams. Turn culture into everyday behaviour. Frameworks, tools, workshops and keynotes that bring values into decisions and leadership.
What makes Kyndst different?
There are plenty of leadership models, culture toolkits and value statements in the world. Kyndst exists because too many look good on paper but fall apart in practice.
Lived experience, not theory
Kyndst is built from real experience across the military, education and business sectors – from starting with nothing, building at scale and selling a business, to seeing what happens when values are tested after success. Everything here has been used, broken, rebuilt and refined in the real world, not in a classroom or consultancy deck.
No fluff. No jargon. No pretending
There’s no corporate theatre here.
Kyndst speaks plainly because clarity builds trust – and because people are tired of being told what good looks like without being shown how to live it.
Practical frameworks you can use
Kyndst isn’t about inspiration without action. Its frameworks, tools and courses are designed to be applied immediately – by individuals, teams, schools and organisations. Clear steps. Shared language. Consistent standards. If it can’t be used on a Monday morning, it doesn’t make the cut.
From values to behaviour
Values don’t matter unless they shape decisions, conversations and actions.
Kyndst helps turn stated values into everyday behaviour – how people lead, communicate, make decisions, and treat one another under pressure. Not values as posters. Values as practice.
